As part of the ”Overseas World Class University Partnership” project, Professor Wu Hua, Head of the Institute of Educational Leadership and Policy, and Professor Lan Jinsong, visited the University of Oxford and the University of Birmingham in England from 26th November to 4th December, 2012.
Professor Wu Hua was invited to give a presentation entitled, Private Education in China: Present, Problems and Prospects, at the China Center of Oxford University on the 29th of November. He introduced the current situation and development of private education in China, analyzed the policy context and market environment for private education, and discussed its implications and future prospects. This interesting lecture was followed by an active discussion between Professor Wu and the participants from Oxford on topics such as institutional design of private education, private-public partnership in education and the education of migrant children.
