The UNESCO ERI-Net Steering Group Meeting was held in Bangkok, Tailand on April 1 and 2. Dean Xu represented the College of Education as a member of the network Steering Group.
Gwang-Jo Kim, Director of the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok presented the opening ceremony speech. The meeting, overview of the 2013 ERI-Net activities, finalization of the 2014 research framework on integration of transversal competencies in education policies and practices. The group members discussed ideas to creating a synergy between two networks: information sharing between ERI-Net and Network on Education Quality Monitoring in the Asia-Pacific (NEQMAP). They also discussed ideas to build an open platform for National Education Systems and Policies in Asia-Pacific (NESPAP) It was also decided that the ERI-Net Annual Meeting in November 2014 will be held by Zhejiang University. In Dean Xu’s speech, he elaborated on the aims, skills, demands and methods of the evaluation of students’ comprehensive competencies.
