ZJU Professor ZHOU Lijun deliver an online lecture to young scholars all over the world

On April 28, 2021, the World Leisure Organization (WLO) held an online international lecture on "Getting to know professionals from all over the world" to provide young teachers and students who study leisure related subjects around the world with opportunities to learn from and communicate with senior scholars. ZJU Professor ZHOU Lijun, executive member of the World Leisure Organization and director of World Leisure Center of Excellence at Zhejiang University, was invited to give a keynote speech. Young teachers and students from China, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Hungary, South Korea, Brazil, Malaysia, Cambodia, South Africa, Kenya and other parts of the world attended the lecture. Dr. LIU Lvcen, a postdoctor in sports, hosted the lecture online.

Professor ZHOU Lijun's lecture focused on "Leisure in China: Research Experience Perspectives". She briefed Zhejiang University, ZJU’s College of Education and World Leisure Center of Excellence at Zhejiang University. Prof. ZHOU further introduced how does she develop her research interest combined with the scientific research conditions of the University and the background of the Chinese government's purpose that constantly meeting the people's needs for a better life and launching various policies for the development of leisure. She focused on her current research in the field of outdoor sports industry and leisure theory and practice. In order to better illustrate the development of leisure in China and its impact on Chinese people's lifestyle, she shared the current popular marathon events and various leisure festivals in China.

The participants discussed the relationship between leisure and social justice, leisure and “9-9-6” working system, and sports leisure and competitive sports. This online lecture has played a very good role in expanding the influence of disciplines and scholars. After the lecture, Professor ZHOU received many e-mails from scholars who attended the lecture, expressing their interest in cooperating with her in research and studying at Zhejiang University.
